What really grinds my gears…

Is when you work for a long, long, time on something. Months and months even, and someone just comes along, erases and adds a few things, then claims it as their own. Now, what my friend worked her ass off on, has been altered and slapped with a new name. This is not even close to okay. Jocking is just like plagiarizing in the roleplay world, and as far as I’m concerned is a ‘crime’ of sorts. I really disapprove of criminal actions. I find that this one, especially, pisses me off to no end. Creativity (of the amount that my friend has) is a gift. It’s not just something that everyone has, at least to her extent. Her ability to remain calm in situations where I, myself, would freak out and the fact that she is one of the nicest people I know; contributes to the extreme anger that I have at the people who have taken what she created and made it their own. The issue is, she is so nice that I have no doubt she would have helped them had they needed it. As would I. So this whole situation is completely ridiculous. Do not take other people’s work. It’s not okay. It’s not funny. Especially since it is definitely NOT yours.
